You can make money without doing evil...

Just sharing a couple of observations around Google...

Google Chrome (1.0.154.36) omits image tooltips displaying the "alt text".  Up to now I've enjoyed reading the meticulous image descriptions on BBC News via IE7.  Though not so meticulous in wording, here's an example:

As for me I'll not be switching back to IE - the benefits of Chrome still win without a doubt - usability being the largest differential.  I've commented upon Google vs Microsoft at www.innosight.com (broken link as at September 2019!) - read more here (ditto).

Google, I'm guessing, would argue that W3C's HTML 4 definition of alt text can suffice as an alternative descriptor when an image will not or cannot be displayed.
I've noticed Google Search now includes meta-search capabilities - in other words, it can also return a result that is a search engine.  The search engine function returned is still actually utilising Google Search [the syntax being <search term> site:<specific site you want to search>].

Give it a go - try searching Google for "rotten tomatoes" and in the first result, check out the search box.
